Escape from the Underdark is a role-play intensive and story based server. As such, players who directly work to involve and entertain others will be rewarded by the DM Team. When we look at what sort of characters to reward, we will endeavor to examine the following criterion:

1. Quality of role-play and strength of concept.
2. Quality of character goals and creativity in their pursuit.
3. Capacity to involve other players, especially those new to role-playing or to the server.
4. Initiative and independence in the development of plots.
5. Ability to significantly influence how people perceive the server in a positive manner.

This is a server where players are encouraged to develop interesting, flavorful, and multi-dimensional characters that you might find in any theatrical production or story.

Players are encouraged and able to participate in the following activities:

Change the World

The world is completely dynamic, and the basic structure of the setting will reflect changes and the consequences of character's actions. The DM team is extremely open to new ideas, and are motivated to make the world seem alive and help characters pursue their goals.

Faction Conflict

EFU:A supports NPC-backed factions and groups. Players that are accepted (through a quick and easy application process) will be invested with responsibilities and privileges as well as a rank system to pursue advancement in.

Explore and Learn

Exploration and mystery solving is an important part of this server.

Action

There is a huge variety of persistent, repeatable, flavorful scripted quests for characters to go on. Many of these quests are instrumental in revealing mysteries about the setting. Others have long-term consequences for your character.

Additionally, there is a large number of "wilderness" areas filled with random spawned monsters. Improptu exploring groups, arenas, special DM quests and events, mining -- the list goes on to ensure that there will be plenty of story-based action to get excited about.

Choices

This is a server in which your character will be forced to make difficult choices.

Tips:

• Do not use smiley emoticons, abbreviations such as "lol" or "cya," or other internet slang terms. Proper grammar and punctuation is important for immersion.
• Travel in groups outside the city, and always go armed with potions of invisibility. Even with all the precautions in the world, though, the mostly uncharted wilderness can be extremely dangerous. Some monsters can see through invisibility and stealth, and can kill you in an instant.
• The decisions you make will have consequences that may persist throughout your character's career.
• Be careful with your dialogue choices. If you say something to anger a NPC, the NPC might attack you.
• Talk to NPCs, but more importantly talk to players.
• Have fun.
